Profile: BrisStyle was formed early in 2008 to promote local artists,
craftspeople and designers living in the Brisbane, Queensland area.
We are dedicated Etsy sellers and our membership covers a wide range
of art works and handmade goods, aiming at the higher end of the
market. We will be working to promote Etsy and our shops at markets
held several times a year.

How to Join: Please contact ontact Robyn of Hotfudge or Bec of Wheresbeckybean. Please note that your work will be reviewed before
membership is approved; the reason being that we aim to maintain a
fairly high standard of workmanship and originality. Please also note
that in the future a modest membership fee may be introduced to cover
the costs of promoting and running our markets.
IMPORTANT: At this stage we are not accepting any more jewellery
artists into our group, but we are happy to put you on our waiting
list.
Meetings and Events: We meet once a month, usually on a Saturday at
the Avid Reader Bookshop on Boundary Street, West End. We visualise
holding approximately four markets a year and are in the process of
organising our first venture – our Christmas market to be held on
Saturday 13 December 2008 at the Hamilton Town Hall, Racecourse Road,

Profile: Our aim is to develop, encourage and showcase West Australian creative talent. Western Australia is a very isolated state and we have begun to band together to support each other. The team consists of a small committee and members. We aim to give people a fresh view of craft, that it is exciting, innovative, well made and an excellent way to support small business.

Meetings and Events: We chat regularly on the “Perth Australia Meetup” post in the Teams & Events forum, we also have just started a website which is still under construction and are planning a blog. The website will be designed to let sellers and buyers know where they can sell and buy handmade in Western Australia. The costs of the website and blog will be offset through advertising on the site. Through the website we aim to become the foremost place to find handmade events and crafters in Western Australia and have a long term plan in place.
We aim to meet two to three times a year; the last was a great success but could have been better if more people had known about it in time, hence the need for the website and Etsy team.
Our first project as Made on the Left is to start our own craft fair. The first has been booked for July and will be taking place in the historic Hyde Park Hotel. We are very hopeful this will become a yearly event. Craft fairs are a rarity in Western Australia and while handmade is well received it does not have the reputation that other states enjoy. Here craft is still seen as bargain hunting, not a way to buy quality unique items.
