Name: Eco Etsy!
Profile: Eco Etsy is a group of like minded people who are coming together to spread the word about reducing, reusing and recycling. We concentrate on educating other Etsyians to be more aware of the waste we create when packaging our items and therefore offer tips and tricks to help other members create a greener way of life in there shops and in there personal lives. EcoEtsy is open to all sellers who want to waste less in the process of selling, packaging and shipping and to encourage buyers to do their part as well.
Members of Eco Etsy work together to...
* Find attractive ways to reuse packaging materials
* Find promotional materials that are Eco-friendly
* Promote Etsy through the creative reuse and labeling of packaging
* Create tutorials for sellers who want to reclaim old magazines, newspapers, and other resources to create packaging
* Actively participate in the Eco Etsy Yahoo group, Message Board, and other web based groups for the team.
* Create a list of tips for sellers who want their shops to be more "green"
* Educate buyers and sellers on the importance of reuse
EcoEtsy is different from the Trashion Street team in that it focuses on reuse and recycling on the business side of Etsy, rather than in crafting. EcoEtsy and Trashion plan to collaborate at times, and will likely share many members.
We are a global team who communicate through chat rooms, message boards, blogs, email, and other web based groups such as Yahoo, Flickr, and myspace. We come together to host contests, special events, team wide sales, promo swaps and other fun activities. A team shop is in the making. More info. to come soon.
