Etsy.com Halloween Contest Official Rules:

The sponsors of the Etsy.com Halloween Contest (“Contest”) are Etsy Inc. (owner and operator of Etsy.com), Treehugger.com, Boingboing.net, Craft Magazine, Make Magazine, Babble.com, Threadless.com, and Tcritic.com (“Sponsors”).
Eligibility: The Contest is open to residents of the 50 United States of America or the District of Columbia who are 18 years of age or older at the time of entry. The Contest ends at 11:59:59 p.m. EST on October 26, 2007 (the "End Date").
Prize: Six (6) first prize winners will receive a $150 Etsy shopping spree. Six (6) second prize winners will receive a bag of limited edition Etsy goodies, approximate retail value: $50. Six (6) third place winners will receive a limited edition Etsy tote bag, approximate retail value $10. One (1) winner will receive a $100 donation to Conservation International. One (1) winner will receive the first year of Craft Magazine (Vol. 1-4); approximate retail value $100. One (1) winner will receive a feature in Babble.com’s Droolicious blog. One (1) winner will receive $150 Threadless bucks and a feature of Tcritic.com, approximate retail value $150. One (1) winner will receive Make volume 1 and volume 1 (approximate retail value $100). One (1) winner will receive a grab bag of handmade goods from Etsy sellers, approximate retail value $150. The Sponsors reserve the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value. A prize cannot be redeemed for cash and may not be substituted or transferred by the winner. No more than the advertised number of prizes will be awarded.

NO PURCHASE OR PAYMENT NECESSARY TO ENTER OR TO WIN. There are two (2) ways to enter the Contest: (a) Online: go to www.etsy.com and list an item in your Etsy Shop; or (b) U.S. Mail: Send in your photos and a written description of your entry to: Attention: Halloween Contest, Etsy, Inc. 325 Gold Street, 6th Floor, Brooklyn, NY 11201. All online entries must be received by the End Date and mailed entries must be received by October 22, 2007. Three (3) entries per Etsy Shop per category is allowed.
The Sponsors are not responsible for technical or computer failures of any kind that may affect Contest entry. The Sponsors are not responsible for lost, stolen, misdirected, mutilated, late or illegible entries. Entries not in compliance with these Official Rules, Etsy’s Terms of Use, Dos and Don’ts or other Site Policies are disqualified. The Sponsors shall have the absolute right to determine if an entry is in compliance with these Official Rules without notice.
By entering the Contest, each participant warrants that he or she has read and agrees to abide by the Official Rules and Etsy’s Terms of Use and that he or she is eligible to participate in the Contest. Each participant agrees to release, discharge, indemnify and hold harmless the Sponsors and its parents, subsidiaries, affiliates, shareholders, employees, officers, directors, agents, representatives, advertising and promotion agencies and prize suppliers from any liability arising from or related to the Contest, including without limitation, personal injury, death, property damage, or claims based on publicity rights, defamation, or invasion of privacy.
Employees and agents, including their family (parents, children, siblings, spouse) and members of their household (whether or not related), of the Sponsors and its subsidiaries, affiliates, parent companies, distributors, divisions, agencies or of any related entity, including any consultants to the Sponsors, are not eligible to participate in the Contest.

The winners will be announced by October 31, 2007 by the Sponsors. All results of the selection are final and binding. In the event a winning entry is discovered to be invalid for any reason or the person who submitted the winning entry fails to comply with these Official Rules prior to delivery of the prize, the prize may be forfeited and awarded to an alternate winner.  The winner will be required to sign and return to the Sponsors an Affidavit of Eligibility and a Prize and/or Publicity Release.  Attempts to notify the winners will be made by an email within thirty (30) days of the End Date. A list of the winners will be posted on www.etsy.com

WINNERS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR REPORTING AND PAYING ANY AND ALL INCOME, SALES OR EXCISE TAXES THAT MAY APPLY.
By entering the Contest, participants consent to the use of their entry and description for advertising and promotional purposes without additional compensation, except where prohibited by law. The Sponsors reserves the right to suspend or cancel the Contest or modify these Official Rules as necessary for any reason or as required by applicable law.

All Federal, state and local laws and regulations are applicable. The New York Courts (State or Federal) shall have sole jurisdiction of any controversies regarding the contest and the laws of the Contest and the laws of the State of New York shall govern the contest.  Each entrant waives any and all objections to jurisdiction and venue and hereby submit to the jurisdiction of those courts. The Contest is void where restricted or prohibited by law.
