Profile: The goal of this team is to support fellow scientists who also enjoy creating art!

How to Join: Membership is open to all scientists on Etsy. This includes those working on degrees or already have them, science educators, worked in a science field (with or without a degree), and of course any scientists who are now full time artisans! All fields of science are also welcome! Anyone else who is not a scientist, but is interested in science and supporting scientists here on Etsy, may be accepted on a case by case basis. Currently we are asking that non-science members simply submit a short statement explaining why they want to join the team. Nothing fancy, just a few sentences, maybe about why you this team is for you and how you'd like to contribute, what you like about science, do you make 'sciencey' items, etc. Team Requirements 1. All members must sign up for the team email list hosted via YahooGroups and must receive at least the 'admin notices'. 2. Membership fee of $12 a year due each year in January, prorated for new members throughout the rest of the year (*note* this is not required for buyer-only members). This is to pay for the team website, advertising, and possibly some team promo items. 3. Participation requirement: there are several options available for members to fulfill the participation requirement which is due every 6 months. You can: write 1 article for the team blog/website (or submit an article to Etsy about the team); complete 1 team challenge; curate 2 team treasuries; create 1 promo item for the team to utilize (evaluated/accepted on a case by case basis); team members who volunteer their time to fulfill administrative roles within the team can count their volunteer status as their participation requirement. Meetings and Events: We currently have monthly team challenges, which can be found by searching for the tag ‘msoeteam challenge’. These are featured in Etsy treasuries as well as our team blog. There are meetings monthly, held either in the Etsy Virtual Labs or Chat Rooms. There's also daily discussions on our weekly forum threads and via the team YahooGroup.
