Profile: SCAEtsy is a street team dedicated to both the promotion of
Etsy and the Society for Creative Anachronism (http://www.sca.org) – a worldwide group dedicated to re-1600’s historic recreation of the “current middle ages”. Our goal is to present a community for sellers of historic to historic-inspired and SCA-centric mementos, goods, and services, as well as an online Etsy community for buyers who are members of or fans of the SCA. While authenticity and documentation in our sellers’ listings is great, it’s not a requirement – as long as some modicum of items and supplies that would have existed in pre-17th century history must be present in at least 3 items in sellers’ shops. (Example: The Jolly Roger is post 1600’s, and fairy wings, demon horns, vampires, hairfalls, and tutus wouldn’t fit in here – but Viking drinking horns, ceramic feast gear, dyed wool, pre-1600’s historic-inspired attire, and Kingdom award medallions would be examples of just some items that would fit in). We ask that sellers flag their historic-inspired items accordingly, with the team’s name of SCAEtsy on applicable items.
How to Join: Sellers - Please convo archeress with a subject of SCAEtsy,
and include links to 3 items in your shop that you feel meet the requirements in our profile, as well as your SCA name and Kingdom. Shops are juried privately by our members, and approved shops will be notified within 1 week of application, unless otherwise posted. Buyers – please convo archeress with a subject of SCAEtsy, and introduce yourself with your SCAdian name, Kingdom, and interests within the SCA. All members are expected to behave courteously at all times, and represent both Etsy and the SCA in a positive manner. Meetings and Events: As we are a global group, we meet easiest within our own
Kingdoms and online, with local events scheduled every weekend in various parts of the world. While the current team leader is archeress, co-captains will be taking care of the regions covered by the 19 Kingdoms of the SCA (ergo, up to 19 co-captains!), and they are responsible for coordinating in-person meetings at their Kingdom’s events. Semi-annual Inter-Kingdom meetings (like Pennsic)
will be coordinated between all co-captains and the team leader, but we will still meet up in the forums in a monthly thread, and in the Etsy Labs by appointment as needed. The Yahoo group will remain our primary point of contact off of Etsy, and teamwide sales will be discussed as we form up. Members:
